Appointment Cancellation & Non-Attendance Policy

To ensure appointments remain available for all patients, Cairns Central Medical has the following cancellation policy.

First missed appointment (Did Not Attend) or cancellation with less than 2 hours’ notice

* A formal warning will be issued.
* A note will be placed on your patient record.
* Any future routine appointment bookings will require approval from our reception team.

Second and subsequent missed appointments (Did Not Attend) or cancellations with less than 2 hours’ notice (within 12 months)*

* A $40 non-attendance fee will apply.
* The fee must be paid in full before any future routine appointment can be booked.

Patients who repeatedly miss appointments may be restricted to **same-day appointments only** or require approval from the Practice Manager before future bookings are accepted.

We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can occur. Exceptions may be considered at the discretion of the Practice Manager.
